American-made bearings for new or used blocks have the surface characteristics of babbitt and will withstand high valve spring pressures. Use standard-performance bearings with hydraulic or solid lifter cams, or high-performance bearings with roller cams. Most are available with fluoropolymer composite coating for oil retention and less friction; some are available in .010", .020", .030", and .040" oversizes.
