With MW stud nuts, an aluminum spacer washer attaches with a Snap-Lock over the base nut. The washer spins freely, but will not separate from the nut, and prevents marring of aluminum wheels.
This prevents marring of the wheels and losing washers. The nut is self aligning, which keeps the thread pitch diameter square with the flange, which results in even pressure loading against the wheel and stud threads.
The nuts are produced from heat treated steel with 5/8"-18 class 3a threads and zinc plated to resist corrosion. The aluminum washers are available in different thicknesses (3/16" - 3/4") to compensate for different wheel and brake hat combinations. Sold each.
Washers are available separately in thicknesses of 3/16" - p/n 55017, 3/8" - p/n 55013, 9/16" - p/n 55014, and 3/4" - p/n 55015.
