AMC 290-401. Ductile iron gears are micro polished and Melonite QPQ coated for reduced wear, and friction, and improved initial break-in. Notes: When installing a new distributor gear in an AMC V8, it is highly recommended to also install a new camshaft mounted, distributor drive gear. This gear is only drilled on one side. You will need to install it on the shaft and line up the hole in the gear with that of the shaft. Finish drilling the hole with a 3/16" drill bit then install the new roll pin. Be sure to thoroughly clean the shavings away before installing the distributor.
